Spirit Hunters by Ellen Oh - OPTIONAL

Oh, Ellen Spirit Hunters, 276 pages.  Harper Collins Publisher, 2017 $17.00.  Language: G (1 swear); Mature Content: G; Violence: G.

Harper Raines and her family moved to Washington D.C. From the moment she got there Harper hated that place. There wasn’t much to do like her home back in New York. Harper starts noticing that her sweet little brother Michael starts acting weird; he isn’t being kind like he usually is, and he starts acting up all the time. Harper learns by her new friend Dayo that her house is supposed to be “haunted” and that there has been a lot of tragedies there. Now Harper has to find out what is wrong with her brother, and save him herself.

To be honest, Spirit Hunters wasn’t my favorite book. I felt like it went to slow, and there were events that weren’t necessary. I wish they would have ventured out more into their new city. During the book they just stayed at home and in the neighborhood, and didn’t do much. Although the book was well written, and I could picture it very well, there were a few scenes that I got lost in. This was not a book I enjoyed a lot.
